Every year, the event, Fiesta San Antonio, that celebrates and pays tribute to the Defenders of the Alamo becomes bigger and more spectacular.

In 1836 fighters on both sides fought at the Battle of the Alamo in the dark. And every year the city of San Antonio pays tribute to those fighters, this year, 2011 is no exception.
If you want to attend the commemoration though, you have to show up at dawn at Alamo Plaza.

Every year the city of San Antonio pays tribute to the world of art and artists during an event known as Luminaria.
It takes place on March 12th 2011 downtown San Antonio where works of art are displayed in various venues. Many attended last year’s festivities. Around 200,000 people.

Since 1950 the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo has been a festive and exciting three weeks of fun and excitement.
This year, of course, is no exception. From February 3rd until the 20th you can join in the fun and excitement too.

Although it began back on October 6th 2010, Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism at the McNay Art Museum continues to be on display until January 16th 2011.
So, if you have not seen this particular exhibit, you still have time to do so. Come and see landscape paintings by French artists such as: Eugene Boudin, Claude Monet and Gustave Courbet.
