Lucy's in Houston
Four years in the making, Lucy's finally here in Houston! Lucy's Legacy: The Hidden Treasure of Ethiopia, a million-plus-year-old skeleton, premieres at the Museum of Natural Science (1 Hermann Circle Dr.) August 31st through April 20th, 2008.
Lucy's Legacy tells the story of humanity in Ethiopia over five-million years ago. Ethiopia, one of the oldest nations in the world, and the second most populated nations in Africa, holds the oldest discovery of anthropological finds of all times. This is the first time she'll be exhibited outside of Ethiopia, and even back in Africa replicas of her bones are on display.
Additionally, at 9am tomorrow, August 28th, Lucy's Legacy will open to the media for the first time. Held in the exhibit at 10am, a press conference with the Museum President Joel A. Bartsch, Museum Curator of Anthropology Dirk Van Tuerenhout and Director of the National Museum in Addis Ababa Ms. Mamitu Yilma.
