Lee Harvey's gets a lot of attention for it's unique dive-ness and cheap beer. It's a great place to hang outside listening to the band or even cramped inside with the quirky DJ spinning tunes. And bring your dog as well for the Dog Day Afternoons. You can get a good feel on their website. But their St. Patrick's celebration looks to be a good one. If you're ...

Lots and lots of parties and celebrations going on all around town but this will be your primo event. It's a Dallas tradition so get there early, claim a spot and stock up on drink and snack as the annual Greenville Ave. St. Patrick's Day Parade takes over the city rain or shine. Plus, I'll be on one of the floats. Say hi.

First and foremost, be warned about Jasmine's Hookah Bar in Richardson, just slightly north of Dallas. If you're past the quarter century mark, you may just find yourself the oldest around. That's pretty much what I was this past Thursday night as my thirty something self had to come to the reality that those days are almost long gone.
All I knew, other than the location, was people go, order the ...

For lunch on my day off, I went to Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village. I've always known about this restaurant but I guess I thought it was a chain (well, it sort of is but at least a local one). I'd seen it here and there and then a friend of mine said she didn't like the restaurant. I got the point with the scowl accompanying ...

I just visited the Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park for the first time last weekend, and it was great. At a meager $4 a ticket, ($3 for kids) it's by far the best attraction in Dallas for my money.
There are a number of exhibits, including a flooded Amazon forest with numerous species of fish from Pacus to Piranha, to Cichlids to Swordtails. The aquarium also features saltwater creatures such ...

Usually, the images those not from the Country of Texas have of Dallas are of people in cowboy hats and boots, the 1980s T.V. show "Dallas", sports, and the fact that President Kennedy was killed here. Despite the ongoing debate of whether Oswald was really the assassin, Lee Harvey's is certainly representative of Dallas. It's situated in an old one-story house with a front porch and a big ...

Spring's just around the corner here in Dallas, and what better place to visit while on vacation than the Dallas Arboretum?
The Arboretum is located in East Dallas by White Rock Lake and is one of the most beautiful places in the city. No matter when you go, there's always something in bloom or something going on. Starting at the beginning of next month, the Arboretum will offer a full calendar ...
