Austin’s Slammin’



The slogan reads “Anything can happen in 3 minutes” for the National Poetry Slam to be held in the second week in August. 5 days of competition with the final battle at the Paramount Theater on Congress Street. More than 300 competitors come out from cities all over North America to “express” themselves.

Get off your duff!



As active as Austin is it's no surprise it hosts the Aussie's Volleybar located at 306 Barton Springs Road. In the area known as SoCo (South Congress) it's lists 65 items on the menue and so it's sure to please every appetite. Featuring burgers, salads & soups, sandwiches, steaks and more with daily specials served Monday through Friday from 11 am to 2 pm.

East Side Austin--A Great Night Out No 1.



Austin's East Side has become a hot spot of late. Some call it yuppification/gentrification, others call it progress/revitalization. Regardless of which side you might fall on in this debate, the East Side offers some of the best eats and culture in Austin. Austin Happy-Hour? Try the Tavern Sports Bar!
