Texas Rock/Country: Mardi Gras DFW


Everything in Texas is big and this year it will be even better at the 6th Annual Mardi Gras DFW in Dallas’s Fair Park. It may not be the beaded necklace throwing, naked bodies everywhere party that made  New Orleans so popular however, this all age’s show is sure to fulfill every classic rock and country lovers needs. Classic rock legends Blue Oyster Cult and Cheep Trick are set to headline for the first night of the infamous musical weekend.

I know...this event is not even in Arlington. It is however close by in Dallas and a fun family event worth visiting wile you are staying in Arlington.
The weekend adventure starts Friday February 16th.  Door tickets to Friday night’s show are $30.00 and $35.00 for Saturday. This event is sponsored by 93.3 the Bone and is only the start of what looks to be a wild and fun weekend the whole family can enjoy. You can also buy $45.00 advance tickets for both days of the show.
Previous years sponsored by 99.5 the Wolf, have only involved Texas’ affection for country music. Even after all the success this year it was decided that we deserved a little more music. This year Mardi Gras 2007 with additional sponsors like Miller Light, Duke’s Original Roadhouse, Gilley’s Dallas, and the previously mentioned 99.3 the bone, the classic rock side of Texas have been chosen to shine through. The show will start at 5pm in the Automobile building at the fair park fair grounds, doors open at 4pm so get there early.

Every Arlington visitor who is also a fan of radio stations 93.3 or 99.5 should not hesitate to join the fun. The last five years have been full of fun filled events. The new addition this year is already turning heads and starting up conversations. While you are there don’t forget to stop by all the various sponsors’ booths, load up on goodies and meet other music loving Texans!
