Frothy Monkey-Possibly the best coffee shop in town
Although there seems to be a vast quantity of coffee shops in Nashville (especially near Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities), a good coffee shop is hard to find. I've lived in Nashville all my life and even attended college here, so I've frequented most, if not all the coffee shops around, looking for a perfect, peaceful place to study, read or catch up with an old friend. Even though many of these popular hang-out spots are hip and offer a variety of food and beverages, the Frothy Monkey stands out.
Located in the charming 12 South District, Frothy Monkey is literally just minutes from Belmont Unviersity and David Lipscomb. Vanderbilt students can also get there quite easily.

Front and side patios are also filled with tables as well. If you are in need of a new spot to study for your exams, Frothy Monkey is the place to go. Even if you have to sit in the middle of the cafe, it is nice and quiet. The ambience at Frothy Monkey is casual and peaceful. The staff is absolutely delightful. In fact, I visited Frothy Monkey this past weekend with a friend. After ordering and receiving her drink, she met me outside on the patio. Quickly, behind her came one of the baristas, who apologetically pronounced she had made her drink incorrectly and just realized it. The mistake was extremely minor, but the woman fixed the drink and came back with a new one within seconds.
Frothy Monkey offers all sorts of coffee drinks, teas, and food such as oatmeal, fruit platters, sandwiches, salads and even gourmet cheeses.
On Sunday afternoons, you can catch live blue-grass on the patio.
