Exploring Hillsboro Village
For over 75 years, The Belcourt Theatre has provided a space for premiere entertainment in the heart of Nashville's Hillsboro Village." Since it's on their web site (www.belcourt.org) it must be true. I wasn't there when the place opened in 1925 as the Hillsboro Theatre but according to the locals the Belcourt Theater has been a happening place, ever since. Even one of Nashville's time honored traditions the Grand Ole Opry used the Belcourt stage from 1934 to 1936.
Presently the Belcourt Theatre is used for multiple purposes such as live theatre, musical events, Film Festivals, meeting house and a most of all an Art Film House. At the Belcourt Theatre, you can see movies and films that can't be seen anywhere else. Whether its foreign films or obscure Independent films made in the U.S.A. the Belcourt Theatre enables film junkies of all types a place to see movies the way they're made to be seen; on the "Big Screen". On top of that, the Belcourt Theatre has the feel of a place where Art is made, seen and discussed. So get on your best Bohemian oufit (preferably all clothing be black) and rehearse your best film speak and head on down to the Belcourt Theatre for some popcorn and a flick
