In a mustard-painted brick building on the corner of 10th and Woodland in East Nashville is The Turnip Truck. An independently owned natural market, The Turnip Truck is the perfect store for those interested in healthy living...or those who just threw back a few too many Jack Daniels last night and need to revitalize.
The store is bright and cheery, with friendly staff and wonderfully fresh products. Although the space is a bit small, the Turnip Truck is chock full of fresh produce, dry and frozen goods, vegetarian and vegan-friendly foods, vitamins, supplements, and household products. There is also a great little deli area with sandwiches, salads, soups, baked goods, and other dishes pre-made daily. It is a good place to pick up a quick picnic or lunch on the go. The Turnip Truck is a little bit granola-y, but without a heavy patchouli-soaked anti-establishment flavor. Essentially, The Turnip Truck has all of what we love about Whole Foods and Wild Oats, but on a smaller, non-corporate scale.
So swing by and revive! The Turnip Truck's natural fare and vitamins can do wonders for a hangover...although they probably can't do much about your Alan Jackson karaoke performance last night.
