Cafe 1912 a Hidden Memphis Jewel
Driving down Cooper Avenue in Midtown Memphis, it is really easy to drive by Cafe 1912 and not know it. The middle space of a small three-space building located at Cooper and Peabody, 1912 is a wonderful treasure of the Memphis restaurant scene. 1912 sports only about 12-15 tables and an open kitchen and you wouldn't want it any other way. The food is great with dishes ranging from stuffed duck breast which is my personal favorite to catfish to beef tenderloin. When eating be prepared to be there a while but in my opinion that is part of the experience. 1912 is open only for dinner but is open Sundays for brunch which I also highly recommend. The best part about 1912 is the high quality food at a respectable price. So if you are looking to wow a date onĀ a decent budget then this is your place.
