Culinary Competition

We had 86 chefs, 441 gourmet dishes, four world-class chef/judges...and it took place in just three days, Iron Chef-style.

The Myrtle Beach Chapter of the American Culinary Federation had its seventh annual culinary competition Jan. 29-31. All the action, including photos of the chefs' dishes, can be found at:

Ask the chefs

Breakfast with Santa

Each year Croissants Bakery & Cafe has special Saturday morning Breakfast with Santa events. The first one was Dec. 8, and two more are scheduled for Dec. 15 and 22. They start at 9:30 a.m. and cost $12 per person.

Recreating on Labor Day

This is the view of Surfside Pier from a restaurant called Latitude 22.

Surfside Beach, which is just south of Myrtle Beach, is a quiet little community known as a family beach. Each year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend they hold a festival full of old-timey family fun.
