Jersey Mike's Subs got its start back in 1956, in the small seaside town of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. During that time, the "Submarine Sandwich" was a relatively new sandwich item for the American Culture. Mike, the original proprietor, always insisted on using nothing but the freshest ingredients and only top quality meat and cheese. He made his "Submarine Sandwiches" on a giant loaf of bread, toasted golden brown and crusty on the outside, while soft and chewy on the inside. The quality and care that Mike insisted on in 1956, still exists today.
