The Shops At Liberty Place--A Great Place To Shop

People always ask me where to shop in Center City, and a good place to start is The Shops At Liberty Place, located on Chestnut Street between 16th and 17th Streets. A more upscale place to shop, Liberty Place is a good source for your favorite designer stores.

Ortlieb's Jazz Haus, located on 847 N. 3rd Street (3rd and Brown, between Spring Garden and Girard Streets), is arguably the best jazz club in Philadelphia.  A nationally if not world-renowned jazz house, legendary jazz musicians from all over the country have come to play at Ortlieb's for the past 20 years.ortliebs3.jpg

EL FUEGO: PHILADELPHIA'S GREATEST MEXICAN FOOD

El Fuego, a minimalist joint in Wash West, isn’t true Mexican. Co-owner John McNamee dubs his fare “California-style.” Basically appealing to the connoisseur, but homogenized for Middle America. Since most of us still fondly recall Chi-Chi’s, this is a good thing.
Food is ordered in a format that would make Henry Ford proud, with a crack staff assembly-lining burritos and quesadillas. Side-note on the staff: They have ...

Boathouse Row--A Wonderful Philadelphia Attraction

A unique part of the Philadelphia experience is visiting Boathouse Row, a lovely group of vintage rowhouses located on the Schuylkill River along Kelly Drive.  The houses are owned by various high schools, college, and private clubs.  If you walk along the river, particularly on weekends, you can watch the various crew teams row like they've never rowed before, either for practice or for competitions.  You also might be able to get ...
