Reading Terminal Market
Reading Terminal Market is always a fun spot to visit while in Philadelphia. Located on 12th and Arch Streets near Market East Station, the Pennsylvanian Convention Center, and Chinatown, it is the oldest operating farmers' market in the nation's history.
One can sample pretty much any dish one can think of while visiting the market, such as Asian and Middle Eastern dishes, soul food, Philly Cheesesteaks, seafood, pizza, amazing chocolates and truffles, "Pennyslvania Dutch fare", and more. There are also produce stands, little carts that sell items like soap and jewelry, an herb shop, organic vegan foods, soft pretzels, exotic meats and cheeses, and just about anything else one can think of. The Terminal "boasts more than 80 unique merchants". There are also many places to sit down and eat.
This 110-year-old market should be on everyone's "To Do" list when visiting Philadelphia.
