Veganopolis: For the vegan and non- alike.

I'm not a vegetarian let alone vegan, and rarely will I give up a piece of meat for a pile of vegetables. But in my recent efforts to be a healthier individual I've been expanding my food horizons.

Today a friend and I went to Veganopolis on 4th and Stark. I didn't really know what to expect, but I did know I'd be having something healthy for lunch, which was ...

Great Pizza for Parents, Kids, and Everyone!

Mississippi Pizza Pub at 3552 N. Mississippi Ave is truly a fun, unique place for a slice.  The space is huge.  There are four places to seat your weary tourist peds-the sidewalk seating, the front room, the main room (complete with stage) or the mysterious, candlelit back room known as the Atlantis Lounge, a non-smoking attached full service bar.

Mississippi Pizza Pub fills up fast when popular shows are lined up.  ...

Super Great Tacos at por que no? Taqueria

Looking for a good Mexican place that won't bust a gut? Check out por que no? at 3524 N. Mississippi Ave (503 467-4149). The place is small, cute, hot, with great sidewalk seating on sunny days for sipping pomegranate margaritas, Mexican beers, rum and juice, or homemade sangrias.

The tacos are fresh and made with tasty, high qual ingredients-no runny beans or questionable ground beef here. Some of ...

Bridgeport Brewing Company

mvc-010s.jpg

I made my first visit to the Bridgeport Brewing Company last week. I went to last Thursday night's Haymaker Pale Ale release party and had myself a grand 'ol time. (Were any of you there?) The brewery has been making their own beer for almost 25 years now. Opening in 1984, Bridgeport has 8 of their own beers on tap. ...

Thai Roses

good3.jpg

Located at 6850 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, Thai Roses Cusine is one of my favorite Thai resturants in Portland. For special occasions (and Sunday-night dinner is definitely a special occasion) my roommate and I have been known to order our Thai food and have it delivered (for free!) to our house.

Tonight the roommate ordered Pad Thai with tofu and I had Pad See Ew ...

Townshend's Alberta Street Tea House, The Best Bar in Portland, OR

"Portland: America's new coffee capital?" This was the question posed by Zach Dundas in the October 11th, 2006 edition of the Willamette Week, but in this land of coffee, there also exists a world of tea. Townshend's Alberta Street Tea House is by far the best bar in Portland, OR. The best tea bar that is. The tea guide is very ...

SoLo; A Bar Experience

solo.jpg

Last Thursday, in between happy hour at OnDeck and the Haymaker Pale Ale release at Bridgeport, Buckeye and I stopped by SoLo in hopes of getting a tasty happy hour drink. Not only did we get a great drink for a good price, we relaxed in a quiet, very much a Pearl District bar for an hour without feeling pressured to order another ...

Blues in the 'Burbs

Having recently moved to the NW Portland neighborhood of Bethany, I was wary of finding any suitable nightlife. Oh, was I wrong! As I was strolling past the Bethany Village Grill, I caught sight of a flyer boasting their (almost nightly) live music. I was intrigued, so I drug my home-body husband, kicking and screaming, along with me to catch some entertainment.

Wow, what a treat. No cover charge, ...
