Serrato

2112 NW Kearney St. Portland, OR 97210
A great place to take someone special and perfect for larger groups. This sophisticated yet rustic trattoria offers various well drinks, wines and fresh dishes, such as cauliflower soup with pancetta and truffle oil and crunchy white beans with tuna, red onion, spinach and oregano. (which was by far the most excellent dish). A scone was split and stuffed with a vanilla custard like whip ...

NW Adventures

BBQ food: $35
wine: $5
charcoal: $5
playing Kings in the park with penis cards: priceless

On Friday night, my friends put a birthday tiara on me and took me all about town for some mayhem. We started out at Wallace Park in NW Portland with a BBQ (we are so classy that we carried our BBQ to the park) and then kinda-sorta joined another birthday group (because ...

Portland Farmers Market

The Portland Farmers Market is now in swing. I have been there a few times over the last couple weeks and the booths are already filled with tasty goods from fresh produce, baked items to farm fresh jams. There is even some live music to enjoy while you shop.

Amnesia Brewing

Amnesia Brewing is a great neighborhood brew pub in the awesome Mississippi District. Bring your friends and sit outside in the sun or inside and drink some great locally brewed beer and sink your teeth into a grilled brat or a farm raised hamburger grilled on site. Open everyday, Amnesia Brewing offers great service and yummy beer. The IPAs are especially popular and the pale ale is ...

Dueling DJs at Berbati's

If you love to dance and you love Michael Jackson but you also love Prince and his sexy little heels hoof it to Berbati's (10 SW 3rd) this Sunday, May 27 @ 9 P.M.  Rumor has it that this is a battle of the DJs but my guess is that if you simply can't choose a side the good folks at Berbati will still let you in.  Don't forget to ...

Veganopolis: For the vegan and non- alike.

I'm not a vegetarian let alone vegan, and rarely will I give up a piece of meat for a pile of vegetables. But in my recent efforts to be a healthier individual I've been expanding my food horizons.

Today a friend and I went to Veganopolis on 4th and Stark. I didn't really know what to expect, but I did know I'd be having something healthy for lunch, which was ...

Great Pizza for Parents, Kids, and Everyone!

Mississippi Pizza Pub at 3552 N. Mississippi Ave is truly a fun, unique place for a slice.  The space is huge.  There are four places to seat your weary tourist peds-the sidewalk seating, the front room, the main room (complete with stage) or the mysterious, candlelit back room known as the Atlantis Lounge, a non-smoking attached full service bar.

Mississippi Pizza Pub fills up fast when popular shows are lined up.  ...

Super Great Tacos at por que no? Taqueria

Looking for a good Mexican place that won't bust a gut? Check out por que no? at 3524 N. Mississippi Ave (503 467-4149). The place is small, cute, hot, with great sidewalk seating on sunny days for sipping pomegranate margaritas, Mexican beers, rum and juice, or homemade sangrias.

The tacos are fresh and made with tasty, high qual ingredients-no runny beans or questionable ground beef here. Some of ...

Bridgeport Brewing Company

mvc-010s.jpg

I made my first visit to the Bridgeport Brewing Company last week. I went to last Thursday night's Haymaker Pale Ale release party and had myself a grand 'ol time. (Were any of you there?) The brewery has been making their own beer for almost 25 years now. Opening in 1984, Bridgeport has 8 of their own beers on tap. ...
