Rumpspankers Beyond Broth

This is hands down THE BEST FOOD I have had in Portland, OR. It's a little known hole in the wall with a very cozy, quirky atmosphere, eclectic menu and funny, friendly staff: a husband and wife team.

Their menu consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner. American Pho', Sustainable Earth Salads, BBQ and Sandwiches. The Rosemary Potato Cakes are delightfully flavorful and the Black and Blue is the most amazing dish I've ever tasted.

Rumpspankers is relocating to a new space at NE 7th and NE Dekum. I thought they were supposed to be opening in April, but it hasn't happened yet ... these things rarely go as planned, though, so I'm not surprised. It's going to be a much roomier space than the old one, and they'll be downstairs from the Village Ballroom for serious-capacity events.

Their old location (the address of which you list above) has a sign on the door informing us that "Gumbalaya is coming soon," which I dare say doesn't sound bad.
