Portland Artist - Larry N Olson
This Saturday, some friends and I hit up the Mt. Tabor Art Walk and enjoyed a plethora (what a great word that is!) of beautiful Portland artistry. An artist that especially stood out to me was Larry N. Olson. Mr. Olson is a Minnesota native and a Lewis & Clark College graduate. His love of photography began at a workshop at the Malheur Environmental Field Station in southeastern Oregon. Olson wanted to capture the intimacy nature has to offer and began his life as a professional artist in 1973. Even 25 years ago, Olson believed that there wasn't enough nature left, and so he began to capture it on film.
I am not a photography critic, but I do consider myself a photographer. Well, I did. After seeing Olson's photography, I feel like an absolute amateur and he makes me want to live in the middle of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest for the rest of my life just to see what kind of photography I can come up with. If you are in the least bit interested in photography, check out Olson's work and let me know what you think!
By the way, thanks for the recent comments, guys! It excites me to see that people are reading what I'm writing!
