Best pizza in Tulsa is B52 pizza
If you're a connoisseur of pizza, like me, then you're in for a treat when you visit B52 Pizza, pasta, subs and more. Located at 21910-D East 71st Street in Broken Arrow just East of the Creek turnpike, you can find yourself there in no time from any major freeway in the area. If that's not close enough to you, they have a second location at 3023 S Harvard Ave at the Ranch Plaza Center in Mid-town Tulsa. If you're not in the mood to drive to either location and are within a 5 mile radius, B52 will deliver your pizza to you!
The ambiance is hole in the wall, comfortable and full of interesting character. My wife and I enjoyed the flavors of the Sicilian which was a difficult decision. The original debate between the New York style thin crust and the Chicago thick crust deep dish was debated at the counter, as I'm sure most of you have done one time or another, and it was decided that we had to try the Sicilian as to not play favorites with the other two.
The pizza was amazing and unlike anything I've tasted in the area to date. Large toppings, thick cheese and flaky moist crust make the experience. The supreme we ordered comes loaded with just about everything you would expect it to have; sausage, onion, green pepper, mushroom and pepperoni. We had to remove the mushrooms as my wife is not a big fan of those! The sauce has a slightly sweet flavor to it which I appreciate in a pizza sauce. That's not to say it wasn't robust, but the quantity was just right and mixed well with the rest of the flavors. I should mention again the density of the crust. It was awesome! The consistency was not doughy or dry but baked to my standards of perfection with plenty of active air pockets which allowed it to rise about half an inch off the pan.
We had an opportunity to meet Matt the owner who was kind enough to chat with us for a couple of minutes. A sincere fellow with an obvious passion for his business and certainly pizza. I think we caught wind of a possible third location so when you visit the Broken Arrow store, make sure you let him know you want one within 5 miles of your house.
We enjoyed our time as I'm sure you will too, when you take a moment to visit B52 pizza and experience the flavor: It's da bomb!
P.S. They make what appears to be absolutely amazing cakes, unfortunately we were too stuffed to try a piece of one and we'll have to make another trip just for a slice of the carrot cake, my favorite!
