Art Walks Bookend the months in Columbus

If enjoying some Art, quaint shopping, trendy boutiques and some great food - there are two great events not to be missed.

The first Saturday of every month is the Short North Gallery Hop. The Short North is the area along High Street, running from Gooddale Blvd to the south and 5th Avenue to the north. It is a a great even and there is much to be seen. ...

A great spot for LIVE local jazz

Located inside the Big Dog Motorcycle showroom  - is the Smugglers Lounge. It is a great venue for live local jazz - Tuesday through Saturday nights. The Big Dog Motorcycle showroom is located at 611 East Broad Street, right before the the entrance to Interstate 71. There is free valet parking. Ice Skating is fun

If you are going to be in Columbus this winter - Ice Skating is something you can do inside and out. It is a great way to enjoy the winter weather and get some exercise.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of venues, which offer ice skating - but it is a start. I would recommend - if you plan to check them out that you call or check ...

Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo

Well - even if the weather is cold - the Wildlights at the Zoo is worth braving the elements. The Zoo goes all out every year - to decorate the entire Zoo grounds with lots of lights. There is a decidedly holiday theme in the air - carolers abound, seasonal music, lots of holiday and animal scenes in lights. We checked out the preview night tonight and it was wonderful ...

So you want to play a game?

As promised another entry in the what to do in Columbus when it is cool, cloudy, rainy and so forth.

For kids of all ages there are two great indoor game and restuarant venues.

Gameworks is inside Easton. It features dinning and games for kids of all ages. The nice feature of Gameworks being at Easton is it is great for families. If some people want to shop and other ...

The weather outside is....

cool, dreary and rainy. Sadly that often describes Columbus in the late fall and winter months. Sometimes we do get a near perfect, crisp day with bright sunshine - a winter day that is perfect for a brisk walk or checking out the sites. Cool enough to make walking and enjoying the outdoors doable - and cool enough to justify a stop by Starbucks for a perfect cup of ...

Spagio Cellar

I separated these entries - becasue Spagio Cellar - while sharing the same geographic location is a destination in and of itself. In my opinion they have one of the best selections of wine in town and a staff of very knowledgable people to help you select and enjoy something absolutely to your liking.

They host regular tastings and the wine by the glass menu changed monthly. They also ...

BrownStone on Main

The BrownStone on Main is a wonderfully done restaurant and lounge. We went on Friday night on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. The Brown Stone on Main is located just east of the City Center Mall on East Main Street. The valet parking is $4. I always suggest using the valet, but if you want to park your car yourself, you can there are a variety ...
