The 2nd annual Charlotte Film Festival is underway at a variety of venues in the central city. It's part of the month long Charlotte Shout! Festival which brings artists of every genre to town annually in September.

The Juneteenth Festival Of The Carolinas will take place this weekend. Juneteenth, for those not in the know, is the oldest national celebration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Charlotte Teacher Uses Heroin In The Classroom



A Charlotte-area teacher was caught by his principle preparing to inject heroin into his arm earlier this week. George McDonald, who taught art at two area elementary schools, was arrested after the principle opened his locked classroom door to find him strapping his arm.
