Charlotte's Best Buffet: Tin Tin

tin-tin.jpgIt's a big out of the way, but Tin Tin Chinese Buffet in Pineville is one of Charlotte's finest dining experiences. From the rich wood decor to the huge pan-Asian gourmet offerings, this food is worth the trip. Located at 10215 Park Rd., Tin Tin has fresh sushi made to order, Mongolian-style pasta, a huge salad and dessert bar, fresh crab legs, and the best of Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and other Asian cuisine. A weekend dinner buffet costs around $20, but it's some of the best Asian you'll ever eat. Meals are slightly cheaper at lunch and on weekdays, and you'll also avoid the crowds who flock here on the weekends.

Favorites include an area of the buffet dedicated to authentic Chinese steamed breads, including peach buns that are spectacular. There are options that are great for vegetarians as well as various meat entrees. Another must-try is the Thai stuffed tofu. It's a classic combination of spicy and sweet sauce in a lightly fried tofu wrapper. There are unusual items on the buffet, especially for the Charlotte area, including watercress and other unique vegetables as well as seafood items like mussels.

It takes a few minutes to get there, but we promise you that the meal will be worth your trip.
