Charlotte's Landmark Diner
It's 3:00 a.m. You've been up all night, doing whatever it is you do when you're up all night (writing, drinking, working on a report, studying, etc.), and you're thinking about french fries. You're thinking about how wonderful it would be if you could have a great big milkshake, or some homemade apple pie. You're thinking spaghetti.
Get in your car, and head to the Landmark Diner. Open late every night (M-Th 6 a.m.-1 a.m., F-Sa 6 a.m.-4 a.m., Su 6 a.m. -12 a.m.), it's the late-night place to get your grub on in Charlotte.
It's been the Central Avenue staple for years, and it has the look, smell, and spaciousness of a 60s diner. The portions are big and not too expensive, so you can eat well and take the rest home with you. The service is kind and prompt, and their cakes are huge and beautiful. It's worth it to check the place out just to see the size of these monsters. The place is huge, so you'll be seated quickly, and it's a great place to go with kids, as no one will look at you funny if the baby cries or throws mashed potatoes.
Check it out at 4429 Central Ave. Charlotte, NC 28205.
