Paramount's Carowinds Summer Fun!

It's that time again folks: time to get your season's passes for Paramount's Carowinds! Carowinds has a little bit of something for everybody.Nickelodeon Central offers fun and excitement for the kids with rides like Danny Phantom's Phantom Flyers and the Wild Thornberry's River Adventure. Young and Old alike enjoy riding Dora the Explorer's Azul Adventure train and while you're in Nick Central you're sure to run into a few of your favorite Nickelodeon characters!

Carowind's also offers rides for the whole family. My personal favorite is the Carolina Goldrusher, a bumpy wooden coaster that has been around since before Paramount owned the theme park. If its really hot and you want to get the whole family cooled off in a flash I recommend White Water Falls with its 45 foot drop into a 20 foot wave pool that's sure to soak everyone in the boat!

Thrill seekers can find what they're looking for at one of the theme park's newest rides: the Borg Assimilator! This ride will send you flying face down through loops and towards the ground, flipping you skyward just in time to flip you back around towards the ground which is racing to your face at high speeds. It's the highest coaster in the park and it's the only coaster in the world with a Star Trek theme. I love it. If you're really daring you can pay a little extra and try the Xtreme Skyflyer which amounts to bunji jumping after being hoisted a 153 feet into the air. You will reach speeds of 60 miles per hour during your fall. I'm not brave enough to have tried this one yet.

If you're not into coasters then you can hang out in Boomerang Bay. You can float around all day in Crocodile Run (a lazy river) or you can climb to the top of some great waterslides! You can also go swimming in the wave pool. Boomerang Bay also bosts of a kiddie pool and many kid friendly water slides and attractions. When you're really hot and feeling tired and cranky it's time to head to the bay to cool off!

Carowinds also offers many performances and concerts throughout the year. There will be more on these events as they draw closer.

On June 9th the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade is back for its fourth year. This parade is a crowd favorite and if you're visiting Carowind's for the first time its a must-see. The parade features colorful floats, more than 20 Nick characters, and about 100 performers. Children love this opportunity to see their favorite characters up close and personal. Adults will enjoy the show too.
