The Memorial Art Gallery is located just outside of downtown Rochester, New York and very close to the city's Art Walk, which includes smaller galleries, restaurants, and Craft Company No. 6.

The Memorial Art Gallery has a permanent collection of over 12,000 objects, ranging from tapestries to furniture to sculpture and paintings. It was given in trust to the University of Rochester, and is both university-affiliated and community supported. The Gallery is open year-round, and in addition to the permanent collection, features temporary exhibits, classes, concerts, lectures, and family activities, including the yearly arts and crafts festival, the Clothesline Art Festival, which is held on the Gallery's grounds.

The Memorial Art Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm, with Thursdays open until 9 pm. The Gallery is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and major holidays. Admission rates are as follows:

General Admission: $7.00
Children 6-18, : $3.00
College students with ID: $5.00
Senior citizens: $5.00

Corporate-sponsored reduced admission is available Thursday evenings from 5 pm to 9 pm. Additional fees may apply for special exhibits.

Tours led by Gallery docents are led Thursdays at 6:30 pm and Fridays and Sundays at 2 pm. Friday and Sunday tours usually highlight major exhibitions, with tours limited to Thursday evenings only during the summer months. Tours are free with paid admission. Induction loop systems or interpreters are available by contacting the Gallery before your visit.
