The 2008 New York Columbus Day Parade

The sun will be shining on New York's Italian community tomorrow as the 2008 Columbus Day Parade steps off. Unseasonably warm temperatures of up to 76 degrees are forecast for the parade, which the organizers (the Columbus Citizens Foundations) call the world's largest celebration of Italian-American culture. (See details below.)

And just how big is the New York Columbus Day Parade? The organizers are saying the event will feature 35,000 marchers ...

The Ground Zero Museum: September 11 Recovery Photos and Other Items

The Ground Zero Museum Web site says on its home page, "IMAGES & REMNANTS FROM THE GROUND ZERO RECOVERY." It's a modest claim for a modest-sized museum, but the photos I've seen are quite powerful. You can see a selection of them at the Ground Zero Museum's Web site at www.groundzeromuseumworkshop.com.

The photos at the non-profit Museum were taken by Gary Marlon Suson, who was the official photographer at ...

Tickets for Michael Bublé at Madison Square Garden

Acclaimed singer Michael Bublé is coming to New York's Madison Square Garden on December 5th. Tickets go on sale Monday, September 8th, and the good seats are sure to go fast. Granted, the huge Garden is not the ideal venue to see this type of singer, but because of Michael Bublé's popularity I guess this type of arena is where he will be booked.

You can get your Michael Bublé ...

While the rest of American is barbecuing, the titans of world tennis will be laboring in the third and fourth rounds of the 2008 U.S. Open in Flushing Meadow, Queens.

There have been some upsets thus far, and Monday's action has some good matchups, especially in the day session. I'm pretty happy about this, because Monday is the one day I'll be attending the U.S. Open this year. (You can find ...
