2009 New York City Marathon - Where to Watch, Tracking Runners, Runners Expo, Road Closures, and More
This Sunday, Nov. 1st is the 40th running of the New York City Marathon. What started as a few loops in Central Park has grown to be one of the most-anticipated events of the year in the running world, leading runners through five boroughs of the City. About 35,000 participants of all ages and abilities will step off of Staten Island and embark on a journey that they will never forget.
Here are some links for information to help you enjoy the NYC Marathon and Marathon Week in the City:
* NYC Marathon coverage on TV and the Internet
* Marathon Health & Fitness Expo (free and open to the public)
* NYC Marathon spectator's guide - best places to watch the race
* Athlete alert - get updates on runners via email
* and, of course, bridge and road closures for the NYC Marathon
The weather looks good for marathon Sunday, which is happy news not only for the runners but for the thousands of volunteers (including me) who will assist in the race.
