Get Statue of Liberty Crown Tickets (But Plan Ahead)

Lady Liberty's crown is open for business again. On July 4th 2009, the crown of the Statue of Liberty was opened to visitors for the first time since 2001. As you can imagine, there's a lot of pent-up demand to see the crown, and not a lot of room in it to accommodate people.

An article on the Web site NewYorkology.com tells how to get tickets to the Statue of Liberty crown. Tickets went on sale June 13th, and dates quickly began selling out. In fact, tickets to go to the crown are now sold out through Labor Day. (Only 30 people can visit the crown per hour.)

The good news is that tickets for the Statue of Liberty crown can be reserved up to a year in advance, so if you're planning a trip to New York in the coming months you can make sure that you'll have your spot to Lady Liberty's crown. And getting tickets to the Statue of Liberty without visiting the crown involves much less of a wait.
