New York's St. Patrick's Day Parade is the grandaddy of them all... it's been a tradition since 1762 and is still going strong on Fifth Avenue. The 2009 New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade is held, as always, on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th, which is Tuesday this year. It takes place on Fifth Avenue starting at 44th Street and going all the way up to 86th Street. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. and continues till about 5 p.m.
