New Yorkers Invited to Sign September 11 Beam
Steel beams that will be used in building National September 11 Memorial & Museum have been to about half the states in the U.S., and now they've come home to New York City. On this September 10 and 11 the beams will be on display and the public is invited to come and sign them, and to write "notes of hope" that will be preserved in the museum.
The signings are being held on Wednesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Battery Park in Lower Manhattan. New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg opened the event and signed the words, "Never Forget," with the word "never" underlined.
