REVISED Schedule for U.S. Open Tennis - 9/7 & 9/8
Rain from the remnants of tropical storm Hanna wrecked havoc on Saturday's U.S. Open schedule, although some action was completed. The REVISED U.S. Open schedule for men's semifinals, men's final, and women's final are below.
Roger Federer defeated Novak Djokovic in four sets on Saturday to book his spot in the men's singles final. The other match, Rafael Nadal vs. Scotsman Andy Murray, was started during the Federer/Djokovic match to try to get as much tennis completed before the rain. At the time the rain started, Murray was the surprise leader over the number one seeded Nadal, up two sets with Nadal up a break in the third set.
Here's the schedule for the rest of the U.S. Open, which will now take place on Sunday, 9/7 and Monday, 9/8. All matches (except the women's doubles final) will be shown on CBS TV.
* The completion of the Nadal/Murray match will take place Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. (It will be preceded by the women’s doubles final, which starts at 1 p.m.)
* The women’s singles final, which was to take place Saturday night, has been rescheduled for Sunday at 9 p.m.
* The men’s singles final, which was to take place Sunday afternoon, has been rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m.
