Casino Drive Scratched; Big Brown Looks Strong for Belmont States
Big Brown goes for horse racing's Triple Crown on Saturday, June 7th at the Belmont Stakes. Casino Drive, which like Big Brown is undefeated, was expected to be one of the major challengers to Big Brown, but was scratched on Saturday morning.
Big Brown has drawn post position 1 for today's final leg of the Triple Crown, which takes place at Belmont Park race track in Elmont, Long Island. You can see the complete list of the Belmont Stakes field at the official Web site, www.nyra.com/belmont/stories/BelmontStakes.shtml
Big Brown, a local favorite that's owned by a team from Long Island, where the one-million-dollar Belmont Stakes takes place, is looking to be the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years. The last horse to win the Triple Crown was Affirmed in 1978.
Post time for the 140th running of the Belmont Stakes is 6:25 p.m. Eastern time.
