Free Concerts at Madison Square Park

Yes, that's Madison Square Park, not Madison Square Garden. Unlike its more famous cousin, Madison Square Park really is at Madison Square, in Manhattan's trendy Flatiron District.

The Park's concert series offers a mix of styles, from folk to blues to rock, and it's all free. You'll find the Park between 23rd and 26th streets and Fifth and Madison Avenues, surrounded by some classic buildings including the Flatiron Building, the old Met Life building, and the Toy Center.

Here's a partial listing of the concert lineup for Madison Square Park this summer:

Lucy Kaplansky, folk/pop singer, Wednesday, June 20, 7 pm

Mingus Dynasty, jazz, Wednesday, June 27, 7 pm

Crooked Still, bluegrass/folk, Wednesday, July 4, 6 pm

James Hunter, R&B and soul singer, Wednesday, July 18, 7 pm

Regina Carter Quintet, jazz, Wednesday, August 1, 7 pm
