Century Grill, Buffalo
Dinner tonight at The Century Grill.
The food is fantastic. We have eaten there before, so I have sampled several of the dishes. This evening I had the grilled salmon, with sides of vegetables and rice. The fish was grilled to perfection; a spiced grilled surface, and pink and tender inside. The vegetables were an interesting mix- green and waxed beans with carrots, red peppers and onions.
In the past I have tried their soups and salads, and the chicken sausage sandwich, which my husband enjoyed tonight. He also mentions that the chicken wings (at home here in Buffalo), are quite plump and tasty.
All of the portions are huge with a real homemade taste. The staff is friendly and accommodating- you'll even see the owner, Otis , serving up dishes...
The restaurant can be found at 320 Pearl Street, across the street from the Hyatt hotel in Buffalo. The building it is located in was built in 1904, and the interior reflects the date. All original wood floors, and tin ceiling. A really comfortable atmosphere for dinner, or for nightlife. The upper floor once housed a blues club, but recently hosted The Goo Goo Dolls (old friends with the owner) during the recording of their latest album "Let Love In".
