New Bar - The Foxy Olive
One of my favorite things, and sometimes least favorite things, about Reno is that everyone knows everyone. It can come in handy when you need a cheap drink, want to get into a club within the hour, don't want to pay $60 to ski or need some other sort of hook-up. If you don't know the bartender, chances are one of your friends does. I recently went to a bar opening of a friend of a friend's, The Foxy Olive. The bar is part of the Reno's downtown redevelopment project and I was very impressed with the bar's new atmosphere. The friend of a friend purchased the bar, kept it open for a few days to have a goodbye Lamplighter Lounge (the old bar name) party and then an opening party. I visited the bar right before it was shut down for its makeover and then again for the re-opening. The owner's did a great job revamping the bar! It is now a very inviting hangout.
