What To Do In Reno This Weekend
Mike Alger tells me it's supposed to be not-so-gloomy out this weekend, and when Mike tells me something, I listen. Therefore, I'm hitting the streets and taking advantage of the good weather, and you all should too. Here's what's happening in Reno this weekend:
Warsaw Poland Bros. are playing at the Green Room Friday at 9 p.m. I've never seen these guys live, but they've played all over the country, have a really cool ska sound and look like they certainly enjoy a cocktail every now and then. If that doesn't say good time, I don't know what does.
If clubbing's more your thing, E.J.'s spinning at 210 North; so ladies, put on those stilettos, and fellas, get in front of the mirror and repeat after me: "Hi, I'm (your name). I'm sorry if my cologne is a bit pungent, but I was hoping it would distract you from the massive amounts of hair gel I've dolloped onto my head."
As for theater, my bet's on the Truckee Meadows Community College musical production Cabaret. I've been hearing a good bit of buzz about it, or maybe a bit of good buzz, but either way, it's sure to be pretty entertaining. No Liza, but still some of the best Broadway music ever.
For those of you looking for a way to punish/torture your boyfriend or husband, the Ballantine Ballroom is featuring the music of the Let's Dance Band, and get this: it includes a free dance lesson! Again fellas, stand in front of the mirror and repeat: "I'm sorry (your lady's name)."
Okay, I hope this was somewhat helpful. If not, click here, because as one woman, I can only do so much.
