Okay, I have to admit that on entering this restaurant I almost left.  In fact I almost drove by it...  The place is small and dingy in a small and dingy strip mall near Nellis Air force base.

But the enticement of a new restaurant and a lunch buffet to try it at made me look for my courage and give it a try.

So too should you.

Look past the torn upholstery and the cracked flooring.  It might be wise to not pay too much attention to the other clientele as well.

For that you will have a wonderful culinary experience of Laos and Thailand.

Their buffet is $5.95 and rotates between two different menus M-F.  I like buffets, especially if I am dining alone or trying a restaurant for the first time.  What better way to sample a bunch of dishes without breaking the bank? The buffet has 8 entree type items 3-4 noodle/rice dishes and then some soup and salads.  Not the best food I have ever had but very tasty and freshly cooked.  While I was there the buffet was refreshed 3 times and there were only a handful of patrons.

When I spoke with a group of women at the table next to me they gave me some pointers on dishes that they like and I tried them on a second visit.  Thank you, unknown fellow restaurant patrons!  Many restaurants ladle so much sauce on their noodle dishes that the end result is visually unappealing as well as being an assault on the senses.  Other places place no sauce/flavoring leaving you wondering why anyone would order such a dish.  This restaurant had the perfect medium with fresh vegetables and tender meats with just enough sauce to flavor to balance the noodles.

Apparently the restaurant is under new management so some things are changing (new menus just went out last week).  So changes are afoot.  Hopefully that will include the decor.

So if you have business that takes you near the Air force base, don't be afraid to try out this neighborhood dive.
