Affordable Las Vegas! - Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat

5693 South Jones Blvd, Suite 105-106
Las Vegas, NV 89118

702-257-1163

This restaurant bills itself as a Cambodian, Vietnamese, Thai restaurant.  Whatever it is, it is  great!

The decor is minimal, you can tell this is a family run place.  The TV in the middle of the room is constantly playing, though thankfully it isn't always Asian martial arts films.

The food is the reason to come here.  (The service is good too!)

Lunch specials are $5.25 and include an eggroll (this is more like a Filipino eggroll than Vietnamese or Thai as it is all ground meat with a little bit of carrot and water chestnuts), a bowl of soup (they say it is the soup of the day but I have been 4 times and it is always the same, a clear broth egg drop soup), and your entree.  These portions are large! I am a big eater and have been unable to finish everything.

The thin noodles with vegetables and choice of meat is very tasty.  The vegetables are still crisp and flavorful plus the sauce that everything is cooked in has just the right amount of bite, even for those that don't like it spicy.

Their stir fries are wonderful because they are not greasy and use good cuts of meat, nothing stringy or chewy here.

The servers are friendly and attentive.  This restaurant is just 5 minutes off the strip at the intersection of Russell Road and Jones.  I've already noticed that they have a steady clientelle of regulars.

So if you are interested in trying something new and don't want to spend a lot of money, check out this neighborhood restaurant.
