Oct 13-14 Last weekend for Renaissance Festival

October 13th and 14th is the final weekend for the longstanding Kansas City tradition, the Renaissance Festival.

If you haven't had a chance to make it out to the festival yet this year you better hurry!  This event has been around since I was a little girl and is fun for kids of all ages.

I personally enjoy the festival more in a large group of friends rather than a date ...

'Undeniably cool chinese'...food

If you're looking for someplace new in the Overland Park area, I suggest checking out the Blue Koi that opened up off Mission Road.

www.bluekoikc.com

I ate dinner there a couple nights ago with my lovely mother.  After opening up the undeniable blue doors, we walked in to a very upscale, but quiet, urban style decor.  We sat at a table somewhat close to the entrance, but given the open environment, ...

Top 10 Kansas City Children's Activities/Attractions

Ahhh, the good old family vacation. The words, "Pack your bags kids, we're going on vacation," can either send chills of excitement or chills of terror through your kids. I look back on my past family vacations, and images of the Griswold family vacations flash before my eyes. So if you are planning a vacation to the Kansas City area any time soon, here are a few ideas that will be sure to have your kids wondering how ...

Kansas City's Irish Hotspot

One of my favorite places to go out for a drink is on a rooftop patio located on the Country Club Plaza. O'Dowd's Little Dublin is its name, and Irish cuisine and beer is its claim to fame! If you are craving a little Irish fun, then this is the spot for you.

Not only can you get a wee bit of Irish in you with their authentic Irish cuisine and ...

Where else will you find a 9 block, outdoor display of beautiful artwork showcasing the finest works in ceramics, digital art, glass, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, sculpture and wood...just to name a few.

If the visual arts aren't ...

A True Blue Tradition

For Kansas City baseball fans, the home-opener came as quite a shock. A stunning victory against the Boston Red Sox instilled hope in everyone's heart that this year just may be the year for the Royals. But alas, that was in April and once again reality has set in and the Royals have taken back their warm spot of one of the worst teams in ...

Blast from the Past

A word to the history, theology, and religion buffs out there: this is the last weekend to see the Dead Sea Scrolls at Union Station. Since the completion of its renovation in 1999, Union Station is itself quite a sight to see. The scrolls were stumbled upon in caves near the Qumran region in Israel in 1946 and contain the manuscripts from which the Hebrew ...

A Lesson in Geography

Even from 10 miles away on I-435, Worlds of Fun has that sort of intimidating glare that makes the pit of your stomach sink even further. The thrilling rides of this amusement park are stunning from afar, but only when you are standing in the parking lot can you imagine these structures of neck-craning proportion.

Situated just North and East of downtown Kansas City, the park ...
