Find Classic Burgers at Annie's Parlour In Minneapolis' Dinkytown
Annie’s Parlor is a classic burger joint, complete with red-and-white checkered tablecloths. The burgers are also classically wonderful. Old standbys like the California burger and mushroom and Swiss burger can be dressed up or down by adding one of a variety of cheeses or swapping white buns for wheat. The smoked cheddar goes especially well on the bacon cheeseburger. Their veggie burgers also get a thumbs up.
Malts and shakes are the other half of Annie’s fame. I almost never stray from the chocolate-banana because it is so good, but there are plenty of other tasty flavors to choose from. Some of the more unusual include butterscotch, wild blueberry, and honey. Candy bar flavors are available as well.
Annie’s is in Dinkytown on 14th Avenue and University Avenue above the Kitty Cat Klub. Be warned, don’t go to Annie’s if you aren’t prepared to climb a lot of stairs. If you do make the assent, the patio offers a nice view of the University of Minnesota’s west bank campus in summer.
