Breakfast is Heaven at Hell's Kitchen in Downtown Minneapolis
Are you ready to turn breakfast on its head? Hell's Kitchen, in Downtown Minneapolis has some of the most creative fare in town. From the Crab Cake with Poached Egg to Shrimp Scrambled Eggs to Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the menu is truly a masterpiece of ingeniously tweaked breakfast classics. The choices are multiple and diverse, so get yourself one of those big cups of French Roast or a homemade hot chocolate to sip while you ponder the options for a few minutes longer. Bring a friend who's not averse to sharing, and order up a few different things!
A good sampling breakfast for two might begin with the famed Bison Benedict, ($13.50) two perfectly poached eggs atop charred Bison flank steak on toast with a surprisingly delicate tangerine-jalapeño hollandaise sauce. Add to that a bowl of Mahnomin Porridge, ($6.75) an AMAZING concoction of wild rice, cranberries, blueberries, toasted hazelnuts, maple syrup and cream, and you're in even better shape. Top it all off with a side order (or two) of toast, ($2.25) and you'll see how that could be a meal in and of itself, given the fact that it's served with a triad of decadent homemade spreads – blackberry jam, chunky peanut butter, and a glistening, spiked marmalade.
Oh, and if you're still hungry, there's always Toasted Sausage Bread, Homemade Yogurt, and Quarter-Pound Cinnamon Rolls to be had. And so much more!
Hell's Kitchen is open for breakfast and lunch, seven days a week. (Yes, they serve lunch too, but I never made it past the breakfast selections!)
