New Year's Eve Celebrations
Romantic Celebrations - The Shoreline Inn & Suites is offering a special New Year's Eve package. For $139 per couple you can enjoy dancing and a buffet at Rafferty's restaurant (just next door to the hotel. The food is just "okay" but the view and ambience of the hotel is wonderful), along with a one night stay at the hotel (includes a continental breakfast in the morning).
Celebrating With the Kids - Celebrate New Year's Eve with the family at the Double JJ Resort (about 20 miles north of Muskegon). New Year's Eve night the resort will offer their annual family tubing party. The tubing party includes snow tubing (although right now we have no snow so you might want to call ahead), all-you-can-eat pizza and pop, midnight fireworks, karaoke and party favors for $32/person. Sounds like it'll be a blast! If the snow tubing doesn't work how about trying out the indoor waterpark? I know the kids will enjoy it. For $44.95/person you can get the tubing party and entrance into the waterpark. If it does not snow, I'd suggest calling the resort and checking on prices and plans (1-800-DoubleJJ).
Other Events/Activities - New Year's Eve night the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra will be performing at DeVos Performance Hall. Patrick Sheridan will be featured on tuba, and it is said that he is quite funny and entertaining. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., and there will be an after-party/celebration at the Amway Grand Hotel to bring in the New Year. Tickets range from $20-$125. (Grand Rapids is just 45 miles or so south of Muskegon).
