The Potter Park Zoo in Lansing: Great time for kids and adults!

arctic.jpg I consider myself a nature lover and as such, i find that there is no greater pleasure than being able to just sit down relax and eye-study an animal particularly if they are not the type of domestic fauna we are all used to see. As much as i deplore seeing them behind bars outside of their natural habitat, going to the zoo is for most of us the only way to meet with an arctic fox or a snow leopard.

If the animal is going to be kept in a zoo, i would rather do what i can to make sure that it is at least being provided with the space and good quality care it deserves.

potter-park.jpg Located on Pennsylvania Avenue in Lansing, the city zoo is included within the Potter Park which conveniently offers the advantages of a scenic landscape next to the Red Cedar River, where you and your family can have a relaxing family picnic after a visit to the zoo.

feline.jpg The Potter Park zoo counts an extansive list of wild animals of which my favorite is a couple of mind blowing beauty artic foxes that i could look at for hours. Aside from the different exhibits you will be able to enjoy such as the Feline exhibit, you will also be offered the opportunity to learn about different species by attending an on-site class at the Education Center or simply by asking the wild-life vet.

Program such as "Adopting an Animal" or girl-scouts or volunteer offers are available as well. The park will alo have at your disposition gift shops, petting zoos, camel rides and much more.

If you would like more information about the Potter Park zoo in Lansing, please visit their website at www.potterparkzoo.com you will also be able to read about their recent additions to the family such as a companion to the lonely male owl.

While doing this research on their website, i discovered that the zoo offered volunteer the choice to joinn in and help. I officially submitted my application to become a volunteer and do what i can to help these animals as much as i can. I am so excited!

Enjoy your time at the zoo!

Karima.
