Bugaboo Creek – Canadian Rockies Ambience and Bugaboo Birthdays
So you’re in Boston celebrating a birthday and looking for something a little out of the ordinary? Say, a rustic lodge type of setting with a talking moose and wait staff that will sing your birthday song when the chocolate cake is served?
Bugaboo Creek is right up your alley. From the moment you step inside Bugaboo Creek’s wilderness/snowshoe/deer antler/grizzly bear ambiance, you’re in the wild—at least in spirit.
Named for the Bugaboo Glacier Provincial Park in British Columbia, this amusing restaurant is as comfy as your favorite pair of moccasins, resembling a rustic mountain lodge off the Bugaboo Trail, with the ambience of a Canadian Rockies retreat.
Cozy booths with cheery fireplaces, flipping fish on the walls and sepia tone photos of lakes and trees take you right back to the woods as nature intended.
And if further special effects are needed, the moose on the wall with a red scarf around his neck makes wry observations at intervals, a tree speaks, and the life-size fish on the wall flips.
It’s enough to make you head for the nearest outdoors sportsman shop for waders and a fishnet.
But the best part about Bugaboo Creek is the enthusiastic wait staff, who gather round your table with a moose mask and sing, “Have a Bugaboo Birthday” as they present you with a complimentary slice of Bugaboo Peak Chocolate Cake.
When all is said and done, it’s hard to top that.
Beats a perfunctory “Congratulations” every time.
The eclectic menu offers full-course meals featuring Bugaboo Steaks, Fly Fisherman’s Favorites and “Mountain Outfitters Specialties,” with plenty of variety amongst the entrees.
Desserts include Bananas Mountain Foster, Cabin Fever Chocolate Cake, and Wild Maine Cheesecake, to name a few.
