Bed, Breakfast and Day Spa

Who needs bed and breakfast when you can get bed, facial, manicure, pedicure AND breakfast?

Tucked away at the far edge of Boston's Financial District, Hilton Boston has teamed up with its ultra stylish neighbor Maksou for a chic package deal. Maybe the long years of living with the massive highway burial project in the neighborhood made these neighbors fast friends. Who know? But the partnership has produced a bargain day spa package.

Starting at $300, you get a one-bedroom suite within easy walking distance of Boston's favorite tourist spots --- New England Aquarium, Faneuil Hall, North End --- and an afternoon of beauty and relaxation. The Euro facial, mani and pedi with paraffin treatment alone would normally cost you almost that many greenbacks.

This particular Hilton outpost, by the way, has more the feel of a boutique hotel than a mega-chain. There's a 1920s art deco theme running through the decor and an elegant bar called Caliterra that draws as much afterwork traffic from the area as business travelers.

Breakfast comes from a full buffet served each morning at Caliterra.

The suite has a king-sized bed and a sleeper sofa. Fluffy bathrobe, of course. And the all so convenient on-command movies.

The package also comes with late checkout for 3 p.m. giving plenty of time to spend the morning getting gorgeous at Maksou.

The salons day spa is secreted downstairs where bamboo floors, low lights and relaxing green pastels erase the memory of winter slush and life before daylight savings time. My Turkish facialist had me glowing in no time without any pushy pitch to buy a skin care line.

A haircut isn't included, but if he has an open appointment, Charles Maksou creates the top cuts in Boston. Using his drycut method, first developed by his New York mentor John Sahag, Maksou takes his time cutting dry hair to see exactly how your hair will react to the cut. My cut lasted months.

By the way, mind the massive motorcycle parked nearby. It's Maksou's.

Package good until Dec. 15, 2007, according to Hilton PR.
