Spend the Day on Charles Street

One of my favorite things about Boston in the Spring is Charles Street. Known as "The Flat" of Beacon Hill, this street offers some of the best shopping and eating in the city. The quaint street will make you feel as though you were dropped into a history book and are playing the part of an aristocrat in a historic city.

The posh gift shops and boutiques on Charles Street will wow you; if you're not careful you could spend all day shopping here. Be sure to check out some of the shops like Wish, Moxie, and Good for the latest in fashion and trends. And if antiques are more your thing, all you have to do is look around to realize that you are surrounded by them on Charles St. Also, check out Helen's Leather Shop if you're a cowboy at heart. This store has an amazing selection of cowboy boots, shirts, belt buckles, and leather goods.

Save some time for eating as well! For a fantastic French-style dinner, go to Beacon Hill Bistro. The menu choices are delectable and the setting very chic. If Italian fits your mood better, go down the steps into Artu for rich Italian classics. Trust me, even if you're not in the mood for Italian, once you walk by Artu's window and see the food they are cooking, you will be in the mood. If you are looking for something a bit more casual, try The Upper Crust for some of what is arguable the best pizza in Boston. And for dessert, there are numerous bakeries and cafes  you can relax in.

If you want to cook dinner on your own, you can stop by Deluca's Market and Savenor's Market for fresh meats, fish, and vegetables. Deluca's also has an extremely impressive selection of wines and cheeses. Even if you're not planning on purchasing anything, you should stop by theses stores to check them out; it will be worth it.

Before you go home, take a walk through Beacon Hill so you can get a feel for the area's beautiful cobblestone streets and brick buildings. See if you can find John Kerry's dwelling.

Who would have thought you could spend a whole day on one street?
