Back to Basics in Boston: Hot Chocolate
A wintry mix is due to be hitting the greater Boston area within the next day or so, and while the news of impending snow should have me focusing on whether I can locate my shovel, instead my head is filled with nostalgic visions of waking up on snowdays. While the greatest joy of the snowday is really no longer available to me in the working world (i.e. getting the day off), all is not lost. Recapture and relive that same joy with a cup of Hot Chocolate from L.A. Burdick (Harvard Square, Cambridge). This is no ordinary hot chocolate, and it is very much worth a trip across the river to get it. Even if your travels wouldn't ordinarily land you at Harvard Square, snow is in the air and this hot chocolate won't disappoint. You'll warm up from the tummy out. Plus they have delicate little pastries and chocolates (it is the retail location of a swiss-trained chocolatier, afterall), lovingly prepared and ready for you to savor immediately.
