Fourth of July in Ocean City
Ocean City offers two options for enjoying fireworks displays on July 4th. Jamboree in the Park at Northside Park (127th Street & the Bay) begins at 5 pm on July 4th. There will be plenty of food stands offering everything from hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza to Caesar salads, grilled chicken and cheese steak subs.
The Recreation Line Dancers will start off the evening's entertainment at 5 pm on the main stage. N.O.M.A.D. will follow at 6 pm and Soul Crackers will play at 8 pm and again after the fireworks at 9:55 pm.
For the kids the Fun Field will have a mini-train ride, inflatable field and 25 cent carnival games. They can also participate in sack races, tug-of-war and three-legged races. On the children's stage, the Magic of Mike Rose will perform at 5 pm and Paul Hadfield's Magic Show will entertain at 5:45 pm and again at 8 pm. Michael Rosman's Amazing Feats of Comedy will have everyone laughing at 6:30 pm and 8:45 pm.

Fireworks will begin at 9:30 pm and be shot from the west side of the park. It is really an impressive display. Bring chairs or a blanket and grab a good spot. I always go to Northside Park on the 4th of July and it fills up fast. If you can walk to Northside Park from where you are staying, that's the best way to go...if not, you can take the bus for $2. There are not a lot of parking spots, so if you're driving, get there early.

If you're staying near the south end of Ocean City, head to North Division Street and the Beach. A patriotic concert performed by the the United States Army Band and Chorus will begin at 8 pm on July 4th. Fireworks over the ocean will begin at 9:30 pm. Once again, parking is hard to find, so walking or taking the bus is recommended. Don't forget a blanket or beach chairs.
Keeping my fingers crossed for great weather!
