Transportation in Ocean City
Ocean City has several options for visitors that prefer not to drive. The Boardwalk Tram provides service to the entire boardwalk. There is a depot at the Inlet and at 27th Street, but you can board or get off anywhere you choose. Prepare to settle back and enjoy the scenery, as it can be a pretty slow ride during peak times. The fare is $2.75 one-way per person Monday through Thursday and $3 one-way per person Friday through Sunday. Trams are wheelchair-accessible.
The Bus provides 24-hour service year-round from the South End Transit Center at South Division Street to the North End Transit Center at 144th Street. For $2 you can ride all day (from 6:00 am one day to 6:00 am the next morning) You can purchase discount coupon books which will give you 10 bus passes for $15. Coupon books are available from the drivers or at City Hall on 3rd Street, the Convention Center at 40th Street, Ocean City Police Department on 65th Street or Northside Park at 125th Street.
The Shuttle buses leave from the South End Transit Center at South Division Street and make a stop at the West Ocean City Factory Outlets. It then travels to the Park & Ride facility in West Ocean City (there is free parking at the Park & Ride) The bus then returns to the South End Transit Center. The cost is $1 to ride all day. If you're staying in West Ocean City, you can park your car for free at the Park & Ride and take the shuttle to the beach or boardwalk.
The Trolley provides service from the depot on Somerset Street and heads north on Baltimore Street to the Convention Center. It then heads south on Coastal Highway where it turns onto St. Louis Avenue which it follows back to the depot on Somerset Street. The cost is $2 to ride all day.
The ADA Paratransit Service provides curb-to-curb service for disabled residents and visitors within Ocean City's corporate limits. The fare is $2 to ride all day. You must meet the ADA eligibility requirements and schedule your rides at least one business day ahead. For reservations and information call 410-723-1606.
