The Wrapper on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland

picture-052.jpg

It was a cold Easter weekend in Ocean City.  Luckily, we decided to go to the Boardwalk on Friday, which turned out to be one of the warmest days. There were plenty of people enjoying the arcades and eats on the boardwalk. Some bundled up in coats and hats while a few hearty souls sported sandals and t-shirts.

We made a stop at “The Wrapper” between 2nd and 3rd Street on the Boardwalk. Just about any food you can imagine is wrapped in a soft pretzel dough, dipped lightly in butter and then baked. We enjoyed a spicy Italian sausage and a mashed potato and cheese wrapper. If there isn't a wrapper you like already in the case, just ask and they will cook it up for you in about 8 minutes. The menu has several vegetable, meat and seafood wrappers you can choose from. They are about the size and shape of a hot dog roll, so they are easy to eat while strolling the boards. They are also very willing to give you a sample if you want to try one first. My favorite is the Italian sausage...but I haven't tried them all, yet! The Wrapper is celebrating their 8th season this summer.
