One of Oldest Carousels Still Operating - Located in Ocean City, Maryland
You may feel like you stepped back in time when you enter Trimper's Indoor Rides located at the south end of the boardwalk. Bumper cars, fire engines, boats and airplanes are among several rides that share space with one of the oldest still-operating carousels in the nation. The Herschell-Spillman carousel built in 1902, with 45 hand-carved wooden animals, 3 chariots and one rocking chair was at one time driven by a steam-engine. Kids can also ride a ferris wheel and smaller carousel that date back to the 1920's. This is a great place to keep the little ones happy during bad weather. Open weekends during the Fall and Spring and daily mid-June to Labor Day.
